ABSTRACT

Performance measurement is a learning process that provides feedback for future Value Management (VM) studies. The language in the field of performance measurement (PM) complicates the subject because it is so confused. During the development of PM many terms appeared which were frequently used, such as, performance management, performance evaluation, performance measures, performance metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and critical successful factors (CSFs). VM studies still face pressure due to limited time and resource allocation. A good performance measurement system of VM studies is therefore important to improve the time and resource allocation afforded to VM studies. In a benchmarking ten critical success factors (CSFs) for VM studies were identified. The research showed that client satisfaction was a good indicator of the performance of VM in a project, and that relevant project data collected after VM was applied could be added to give an overall indication of the VM performance.
