ABSTRACT

This book provides information which is helpful for any therapist who wants to infuse his or her practice with creativity, regardless of theoretical approach or orientation. Julia Cameron's seminal book, The Artist's Way has become an invaluable guide for millions of readers to living an artist's life. Like Cameron, the author believes that everyone is an artist and that creative expression is the natural direction of life. The book apply this same principle to their work as therapists and aim to recover their creativity, become more artful in forming healing relationships, and provide handcrafted therapy for their clients. It contains a Creativity Assessment and some important guidelines for relating to art and art making. This book guides therapists to see themselves as artists in their own right. All of the client stories are altered and/or fictionalized composites to protect client rights. Many of the moments are so unique that they are impossible to disguise without obliterating the magic.
