ABSTRACT

The Creative Process Assessment assisted in identifying initial strengths and weaknesses in the way in which the reader navigate their creative process. This chapter describes the important factors that go into valuing their art. It is quite common for therapists to discover that the strengths and weakness associated with their art processes are directly related to their challenges and stuck places in their therapeutic work. The stories, case studies, and vignettes offer multiple contexts through which to see the creative process as it relates to therapy and art making. While all of the stories and art invitations provide a rich backdrop for understanding the creative process, it could be especially helpful to concentrate on the art invitations associated with the particular stage that the reader's assessment identified as potential stuck places. Here are some guidelines that can help remind them to emphasize the process over the product.
