ABSTRACT

The smart and aware crowdfunding campaigner recognizes that the supporter of his or her campaign has interests—interests that have aligned themselves with either the project or the person campaigning. The smart and aware campaigner recognizes that the supporter is a living, breathing human being with goals, one of which may be to altruistically support projects he or she feels worthy of his or her hard earned dollars. A lot of people are not only supporting crowdfunding campaigns in order to receive a product at the end, but to become part of the creative process, of something that goes beyond money. Like many factors with a crowdfunding campaign, there's a psychological aspect to not only setting a goal, but how that goal will be perceived by others. There have been numerous studies speaking to the importance of the first week of a crowdfunding campaign. Campaigns reach 15" of their goal in the first week have approximately an 82" chance of success.
