ABSTRACT

The genesis of Mile… Mile & A Half came from a group of friends working together in the entertainment industry. The Kickstarter campaign for Mile… Mile & A Half was launched on August 28th, 2012. The goal was set for a $78,100 raise. The figure was determined by line budgeting the costs for post-production of the film, the fees of running a campaign and the costs of fulfilling the premiums. Soon after the completion of the Kickstarter campaign, the team locked the cut of the film and began moving into the finishing stages. On June 1st, 2013 Mile… Mile & A Half premiered at the Dances with Films Festival in Los Angeles. Reaction to the film was overwhelmingly positive, with the film winning the Audience Award for Best Documentary. After researching the companies who were interested in the film and getting feedback from filmmakers, the team signed with Gravitas to serve as their sales agent for domestic Video On Demand.
