ABSTRACT
This refers to the synthesis of the planets or metals with the sun, to form a crown which will be "within" Hermes. The crown signifies the kingly totality; it stands for unity and is not subject to Heimarmene. This reminds us of the seven-or twelve-rayed crown of light which the Agathodaimon serpent wears on Gnostic gems,81 and also of the crown of Wisdom in the Aurora Consurgens.*2
