ABSTRACT

The current emphasis on practitioner inquiry DfE (Department for Education); NCSL (National College for School Leadership) is an indicator of the complexities educators face in their day-to-day practice. Inquiry is the cutting edge of practice innovation. The process is familiar and central to most educators classroom practice - identifying children's learning barriers, implementing interventions to overcome them, reviewing the success of outcomes, and then, if need be, further modifying or adapting interventions to improve children's learning. The Inquiry Framework for Learning is a content-free, web-based tool designed to support educators in exploring and developing personalized learning pathways for children with Complex Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (CLDD). The Action Research Spiral (ARS) should be set within the context of an inquiry framework such as the Accessible Research Cycle (ARC). Educators cannot be expected to know all the answers, but, as described above, schools have the building blocks for inquiry well within their grasp.
