ABSTRACT

Theatrical performance is a climactic event, but treading on the heels of the rush of excitement and accomplishment can be a letdown, which is heightened when the performers feel that the strengths they manifested onstage surpass their off-stage capacities. This chapter offers creative ways of addressing the post-performance depression that can follow the exhilaration of performance, and help participants to integrate the experience of success. The author specifies issues and follow-up processes particular to Therapeutic Theatre and Self-Revelatory Performance respectively.
