ABSTRACT

Drama therapy techniques geared toward the middle of sessions and a treatment series are described, categorized by primary therapeutic objectives and foci: (1) expression and communication: (2) development of role and relationship; (3) group collaboration and interrelationship; and (4) self-revelation. The first and most elaborated upon technique is the use of a phone (as a prop) in drama therapy. Among many other techniques, Join the Emotion, Calling Out Emotions, Hand Gestures, Family Roles, and Self-Sculptures are described in detail. Included too are recommendations for effective ways of initiating, facilitating, developing, and modifying various processes and techniques.
