ABSTRACT

Certification is done on Electrical Installation Certificates (EIC), Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR), schedules, test results, Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificates (MEIWC) and any other documentation. The EIC and the EICR must be accompanied by a schedule of test results and a schedule of inspections. It should be noted that both EIC and MEIWC should be signed or otherwise authenticated by competent persons in respect of the design, the construction and the inspection and testing of the installation. One important aspect of an EIC is the recommended interval between inspections. This should be evaluated by the designer and will depend on the type of installation and its usage. The rest of the form deals with the extent and limitations of the inspection and test, recommendations, and a summary of the installation. It must be agreed with the client or other third party exactly what parts of the installation will be covered by the report and those that will not.
