ABSTRACT

This chapter showcases six easy-to-adapt action research projects related to a subset of the curriculum-design principles and teaching practices. The focal points of these teacher-initiated action research projects are deliberate practice, motivation, vocabulary, discourse structure awareness, and fluency. The chapter highlights six reading-related action research projects that showcase different aspects of second language reading instruction, research questions, and action research plans. The results of this action research project are likely to lead to insights about students’ responsiveness to different vocabulary-collection techniques. The action research project helps teachers determine effective ways to pair students for oral paired re-reading activities.
