ABSTRACT
This chapter outlines general approaches to postexcavation work and the range of specialisms involved. The bulk of the chapter outlines the initial analytical techniques used with the most common organic and inorganic materials. Where a method is used with several materials it is dealt with at the first example and only referenced thereafter.
