ABSTRACT

A good-hearted and charitable woman gives all her Passover wheat to a beggar and hides the fact from her husband by saying that God will provide. Later, while doing her wash by the river, she is asked by an old man if she is ready for the holiday. Although she is not, she replies in the affirmative and, as a reward for her faith, God makes her words come true. The poor father of seven daughters has no funds to make Passover preparations. In despair, he leaves home in search of Fortune and meets the Prophet Elijah who inquires as to whether he is in need of holiday supplies. Sitting quietly by the sea and meditating about his fate, a poor and childless blind man suddenly feels a hand tapping him gently on the shoulder. It is Elijah the Prophet who informs him that God has taken pity on him and decided to grant him the fulfillment of one wish.
