ABSTRACT
The habit in Newfoundland one time was that everyone bought their winter supply of food in the fall. A certain man in Trinity Bay bought a half barrel of pork and since he had some pork on hand he said, “That barrel of pork is for Mr. March.” His wife thought that he meaned a man, “March," but he actually meant the month of March.
