Note, for example, the spelling of father as fodder which accords with the typical substitution of /d/ for medial -th-(although the doubling of the consonant wrongly suggests that the preceding vowel is short whereas it is normally lengthened in Newfoundland speech), and the archaic verb mind (remind; OED Mind v. 1).
