ABSTRACT
These two men were hunting for young cubs and they came to a tree that had fallen. There was a big hole in the tree and this one fellow volunteered to go inside and get the cubs. The other fellow stayed out to watch for the old mother bear. In some way or other the bear came up and surprised the watchman and slipped into the hole. He grabs the bear by the tail and tried to haul her back. The fellow inside says, “What darkens the door?” He says that two or three times. The fellow outside says, "You'll know if the tail breaks!”
