ABSTRACT

There are several types of electric vehicle, but many look very similar to their noneelectric counterparts so look out for the badging! The following pictures show some common types:

Figure 4.7 shows the general layout in block diagram form of an electric vehicle (EV). Note that because the drive batteries are a few hundred volts, a lower 12/24 V system is still required for ‘normal’ lighting and other systems.
