When I began this book I was intent on not including 3D text. Why? Because I had seen so many examples of the use of Photoshop 3D on YouTube and Facebook as 3D extrusions. My tech editor insisted that I include a tutorial on the use of 3D text from a diff erent point of view. So, I fi gured if I am going to include 3D text then I am going to create something cool, simple and dynamic. So, using the phrase “3D Power,” we will create a concept that shows the after eff ect of energy burning texture into a metallic like surface. The approach will be simple so that we will produce a visually interesting result. To top it off we will add video as a refl ective source on the face of the 3D text so that it stands out prominently from the background. The end result will be a video output. All fi les to follow along with this tutorial are in students fi les for the “ Chapter 10 3D Text” folder. Let’s have fun.
