ABSTRACT
Automatic Processing (AP), also called Natural Language Processing (NLP), refers to computer–human interaction. Computer–human “communication problems” and human–human communication problems are similar in many significant ways, and even though most readers may have only marginal interest in AP itself, understanding the nature of computer–human communication can provide some key insights into human–human communication.
