ABSTRACT

Deliverables are dependent on the distribution deal filmmakers have. There will be various types of output from the final mix. The most important is the composite master, which is what filmmakers could transfer to our Non-Linear Editing and synchronize it up with the picture and then output both composited together for distribution. For cinema exhibition filmmakers will probably have to have a Digital Cinema Package (DCP) for the digital projection system. DCP is a group of files that work in conjunction with each other to provide the data for digital film exhibition. There are specific settings that need to be followed to get good audio onto a DVD or Blu-ray. Each broadcaster and cable company will have their own specifications. In Society of Motion Pictures and Television Engineers countries like the USA and Canada, the reference level will be –20dBFS and in European Broadcasting Union countries like France and Germany, it will be – 18dBFS.
