ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The best sound design needs to start with the best production tracks. A lot can be done to clean up dialogue tracks, but having clean tracks will make the process easier and cheaper in the long run. It is a common mistake of low and no budget filmmakers to focus on the picture and only give cursory attention to the sound. The more filmmakers learn about the process of post-production sound and the more experience filmmakers get creating it, the higher production value our films will have. The higher the production value, the more seriously people will take our filmmaking prowess. Knowledge is power and it can be used to create, entertain and inform others. As an artist and a storyteller, our primary function is to provide a mirror on the human condition and to do so in an entertaining manner.
