ABSTRACT
North Sámi possesses a wide variety of suffixes that can be used to create new verbs, nouns, and adjectives from other verbs, nouns, and adjectives. Some of these derivative suffixes are extremely widely used and very productive, while others are more limited in scope. In the following section the main North Sámi derivative suffixes will be examined, with the most attention given to the more frequently occurring ones.
