ABSTRACT

Collaboration is a group of students, potentially with the teacher working inside or outside of the classroom to create photographic work that meets the learning objectives of an assignment. Within photography, there has even been a strong paradigm of collaboration in the production of artwork. In any collaborative classroom activity that strives to meet learning objectives, there are two, and sometimes three, main players. They are teachers, learners, and learner-teachers. The teacher must take control to ensure the collaborative learning has maximum effect. Preparing the teams in advance for the nature of group work and working closely with the learner-teachers to inculcate the proper activities will ensure effective group work and enhance the learning most effectively. The introduction of Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP), the expansion of broadband technologies, and more robust codecs have reduced the difficulties of long-distance collaborative learning to time scheduling. The interactive nature of the socially based networks and image-specific sites such as Facebook, Flickr promotes collaboration.
