ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we look at two central debates in ethics. The rst debate
relates to deciding what the morally right thing to do is. We shall look at
three theories. The rst focuses on the consequences of the action, the
second on the motive, and the third on being a good person. We then
discuss how these theories approach a range of practical ethical issues.
