ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book analyzes the relationship between good governance and some important issues of global concern. The results of the statistical analysis show that the lack of good governance causes states to be fragile. The analyses on Iraq, Somalia, and Syria show the threats faced by the people of these countries, their neighbors, and the world. Despite some of the problems associated with globalization, the global south can take advantage of it by making it more manageable. The case study of the Bangladeshi garment industry shows the problems of economic globalization. The book analyzes the relationship between bureaucratic capacity, measured by government effectiveness, and good governance. It uses the major indicators of human development which are based on the United Nations' elements of education, health, and income.
