ABSTRACT

This chapter considers a weekly overview and facilitators guidelines for each session. The weekly overview provides a summary of each week's session and activities. The facilitator's guidelines are more detailed and provide examples of reflections to use during the sessions. The group facilitator needs to take the facilitators guidelines with them to each session. The chapter focuses on the group work programmes, how they can be used, their value and the impact they can have on children and the school as a whole. The activities in the group work programmes explore the concept of using reflective language as a behaviour management tool and are designed to motivate and build confidence, self-esteem and resilience. This chapter also talks about the use of reflective language, and the facilitator's guidelines that accompany each session which can be used with children in any context and provide a different approach to working with children.
