ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on Controlling a Stage (CS) on Projects In Controlled Environments (PRINCE2) for Beginners. The CS manages the stage from stage approval to completion, assigns work to be done, monitors work progress and quality and deals with issues and risks. The production of the stage's products within budget, schedule and to the required quality must be driven by the project manager. It also requires careful monitoring and control. The project manager must control the sequence of at least the major activities of a stage and when they begin. They ensure that all possible sources of issues and risks are being monitored. The Managing Product Delivery process covers the steps of a team manager receiving a Work Package on behalf of a team. Balances with the activity deliver a Work Package within the Managing Product Delivery process. It records the completion and return of approved Work Packages.
