The Project Manager must run through the Review stage status activity in the Controlling a Stage (CS) process in order to understand the full situation. The Highlight Report is a formal means of giving a progress update from the Project Manager to the Project Board. Possible responses to issues or risks are to take corrective action, seek advice from the Project Board or raise an Exception Report in the activity Escalate issues and risks, part of the Controlling a Stage process. Corrective Action takes within the limits of the tolerance margins established by the Project Board, the Project Manager takes action to remedy any problems that arise. Authorize a work package which allocates work to be done to a team or individual, based on the needs of the current Stage Plan and ensures that any work handed out is accompanied by measurements such as target dates, the customer's quality expectations, delivery and reporting dates.
