ABSTRACT

The Change theme covers change control and configuration management, and touches on the principles of manages by exception, focus on products and continued business justification. PRINCE2 provides a structured set of procedures to identify, analyse and control changes. There are five steps in the change control procedure such as capture, examine, propose, decide, and implement. There is a very strong link between change control and configuration management. Configuration management is also the process of managing change to the elements that comprise a product. At the outset of a project a decision is needed on whether a change authority is needed and how changes be funded. Product status accounting provides a complete statement of the current status and history of the products generated within the project or within a stage. Configuration auditing checks whether the recorded description of products matches their physical representation and whether items have been built to their specification.
