ABSTRACT

Frank Wise School is a very special sort of special school, long known for its use of technology in meeting the extremely broad range of learning needs of its pupils. Making videos is a well-established part of the work at Frank Wise School, to the extent of having a dedicated space with high-quality equipment, including the latest technologies. The increasing ease of use of handheld devices has created, paradoxically, one of the issues Sean O'Sullivan thinks should be tackled when embedding handheld and mobile technology at Frank Wise. Frank Wise School has always been keen to adopt new technologies and to explore how they can enhance teaching and learning for children with special educational needs. As with other technological shifts over the years, staff at Frank Wise School is rising to such challenges, always looking for the fresh opportunities that they can bring to enrich the curriculum for the children and young people in their care.
