ABSTRACT
There is an open-door policy for learning at Normanby Primary School. The author vision is a Normanby school app that has a bit of the learning platform, a bit of school website, a bit of paper-based communication, a bit of the planners and a bit of the Facebook and Twitter-style relationship for home-to-school as well. Although there is plenty of information on the school's website, timetables, a blog featuring children's work and lesson content, that parents can access, it's still something that they have to seek out. If iPods were seen to be having a negative effect at any time, he says, there would be no hesitation in dispensing with them and moving on. It is important to keep that awareness of what's working in school and keep asking the question so we are ready to go to the next thing straight away, not dithering around.
