ABSTRACT
As dispensers of justice in a cinematically universifi ed multiverse, MGR and RK display a delicately complex and subtly intricate behaviour. While they embezzle and usurp the subaltern and the elite signs, they constantly switch their operation between the contesting yet commingling moral and legal terrains. Consequently, they exhibit variant responses to the same ‘act of violation’, depending on whether they assume the role of the victim or that of the custodian.
