ABSTRACT
Processes of Islamisation and globalisation did not produce two entirely alternative anthropologies and worldviews; on the contraries, they cross-fertilised each other, giving birth to new frames through which social reality is read and interpreted. The concept of ‘Islamic modernities’, within the broader framework of ‘multilple modernities’, provides a theoretical understanding of the processes of hybridisation between the paradigms of homo economicus and homo islamicus.
