ABSTRACT

A considerable diversity of landscapes characterises Morocco. The plains of the Atlantic seaboard contrast with the rugged hilly landscapes of the Aif, the high mountains of the Atlas range and the pre'-Saharan desert areas, Considerable agricultural potential exists in the climatically and physically favourable parts of the country. Morocco, although not an oil producing state, has rich deposits of phosphates. Phosphate exports are a principal source of foreign earnings, but sadly Morocco remains at the mercy of world market prices (]).
