ABSTRACT
In an appendix we will deal with the choice of capital inputs. As we saw in Chapter 2, capital is very scarce in the Haitian peasant sector, so scarce that as a rule it is limited to seeds, plants and simple hand tools. The appendix contains a model originated by Amartya K. Sen which sheds some light on the reasons for this. The findings from the appendix will be used in the discussion of farm size in the main text.
