Prehistoric mountain sheep hunting in the central Rocky Mountains of North America

The age of some of those sheep traps with preserved wooden elements have been determined by dendrochronological study. Only a few sites, including traps, conical pole lodges, and cribbed log lodges, have been dated. The results place the use of the northwestern Wyoming sheep trap structures consistently at c. AD 1800.
