ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we extended the basic two-level univariate regression model by presenting an example of a three-level univariate model as well as two examples of multivariate path models. We also introduced the Mplus matrix specification for multivariate models. This makes it very easy to specify separate models with direct and indirect effects at two or three levels. In the next chapter, we introduce the concept of working with latent variables within and between groups, focusing in particular on incorporating measurement error in defining constructs through their observed indicators.
