ABSTRACT

This chapter describes about evaluation of team training program. It states that effectiveness of team training is heavily dependent on thoughtful evaluations. Although evaluation is integral for truly determining learners' teamwork and taskwork competencies. Evaluations assist organizations in assuring quality, increasing knowledge, improving behaviors, prioritizing resources, delivering initiatives, instilling accountability, fostering marketing, and encouraging change not to mention evincing and/or improving the overall effectiveness of training programs. Although team training primarily focuses on accelerating team KSAs, diagnosing specific individual member processes and outcomes is also important because some members may need specific, customized remediation. The chapter explains about the assessments during training to quantify the development of team-work KSAs. There are various taxonomies that offer guidance on training evaluation criteria. Thus, evaluating multiple aspects of teamwork and team performance is essential for obtaining a confident evaluation of team training effectiveness.
