ABSTRACT

This chapter creates a system for enduring and sustaining teamwork behaviors in organizations. It involves administering feedback and facilitating discussion relevant to the trained teamwork behaviors, providing learners with opportunities to use what they have learned within the work environment, and supplying support, of various kinds, that is necessary for learners to be able to successfully perform. The chapter helps the learner avoid being distracted by negative emotions and instead focus on learning and improving. Learners should be encouraged to ask questions, provide feedback, and report difficulties associated particularly with their attempts to apply trained team knowledge, skill, abilities (KSAs) to the workplace. The chapter discusses about teamwork competencies in formal performance evaluations. It says that organizational leadership should continue to champion and reinforce trained teamwork behaviors long after training is over. The chapter explains that results of the team training evaluation will provide valuable information about what is and what is not working.
