Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized the critical role the Iranian youth played in the country's progress and the importance of their talents. He considers the Iranian youth to be the future generation that will sustain the revolutionary ideals. The Supreme Leader is determined to establish and maintain a close relationship with Iranian youth. 'Iran does not need a nuclear bomb when it is equipped with religious youth', claimed Ayatollah Khamenei on November 5, 2004. 'The enemy is angry because of the people's support of their government, especially the youth'. This quote underscores the Supreme Leader's awareness of how critical it is for the young people of Iran to support the regime. To maintain Iran's Islamic revolutionary spirit, Khamenei relies on his cultural policies to excite and motivate the youth. Khamenei outlined his cultural and scientific policies for members of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution based on the Islamic Republic's cultural philosophy.
