ABSTRACT

This chapter provides valuable advice for the performing artist such as an actor, dancer, lighting guru, costumer, or stagehand, on investing, saving, and building a diversified and stable financial portfolio. It also provides unique strategies for integrating financial awareness and planning into the life as an artist, and how that can help to provide a better sense of financial security. Cash stash is the capital saved in cash accounts that serves as the emergency fund. Different sources promote setting aside varying amounts of reserve cash to serve as the emergency funds. Each month of reserve cash is equal to the calculated cash needed for monthly expenses. The chapter presents example tracking chart for a two-month cash stash, five-month cash stash, eight-month cash stash and a ten-month cash stash. The chart is utilized to keep track of the progress on building the stash cash.
