ABSTRACT
This chapter is long because we have chosen to present a wide variety of alternatives to mainstream approaches. Students and teachers may want to focus on a selection of particular approaches depending on their interests and curriculum. But attentive readers should explore the whole range of theories discussed here – even if they then specialise in a few – in order to understand the evolution and diversity of contemporary IPE.
