ABSTRACT
As the preceding sweep through the evolution of the field has demonstrated, university planning and building has assimilated, inspired and adopted the full range of ‘isms’ and ‘ologies’ that have shaped the chronology of Western architecture and urbanism for the past millennium. A tour around the grounds of Yale or Oxford, for example, is the equivalent of a lesson in national architectural history.
