ABSTRACT
Chapter 2 is an analysis of the various connections between Mullā Ṣadrā’s philosophy of the human soul (‘ilm al-nafs) and his political thought. The focus of the chapter is a philosophical explanation of his idea that worldly life is one of many stages of a spiritual life.
