ABSTRACT

The laboratory method has rapidly become major educational methods in many Western countries and continues to be widely used, especially in managerial training and organizational development. Part of this popularity is due to the ethical beliefs embedded in the method that reflect aspects of American culture concerning democracy and democratic leadership, and the way in which people ought to relate to one another. As Bradford, Gibb, and Benne wrote: The T-group is more than an educational technology. The aim of the T-group is to help individuals realize and understand these various aspects of their behaviour and then to make changes if they so choose. The purpose of a T-group can include aims other than the three given by Smith. The T-group is usually only a part of a conference or training programme that uses the laboratory method to provide learning about other aspects of behaviour.
