ABSTRACT

This chapter deals with the stimulating story writing ideas to engage child authors and enrich professional practices. It also says that suitcases can be used to stimulate child author's emerging story writing not only at school but also at home. Professionals can help child authors to appreciate how much 'hats matter', not only when thinking about the physical appearance of their characters but also about their 'potential' in relation to stimulating different elements of their emerging written stories such as plot. Support child authors in 'seeing possibilities' by playing around with the fabric and manipulating it into different shapes, objects and articles that can be 'owned' by child authors as key items to drive their emerging written stories forwards. The chapter concluded by thinking about the story potential that the contents of different bottles could have in the creative minds of young child authors characters could grow wings, change colour, turn into stone, and develop superpowers.
