ABSTRACT
This chapter explains how to resolve child authors problems and that can be solved by forgive and forget. Opportunities for child authors to go head-to-head with 'the problem' allow them to build some exciting tension in their emerging story mark making, writing. Nominate individuals to be a Conflict Catcher when children are in conflict with others. One way to manage conflict is through physical force. The chapter also describes that professionals should actively encourage children to try and 'sort it out themselves' in an effort to build skills of independence, there will be occasions when they will need to request the assistance of peers, siblings and adults. It also says professionals may question whether it is appropriate to advocate the notion of characters 'giving up' but they are reminded that it is just a story option and one which child authors may wish to use to bring some kind of resolution near the end of their emerging written story.
