ABSTRACT

In this book on work-related learning and the social sciences, we have adopted two main approaches to the study of work. In the first part of the book, we constructed a series of theoretical frameworks with the aim of examining what can be gained from applying social scientific concepts to the way work is organised and its impact upon people. In the second part of the book, we have looked at what people can learn through work. It is now time to conclude our arguments and to draw connections between the various parts of the book and the various layers of the analysis.
