ABSTRACT
The current Rules of the High Court (“RHC”), which implement those reforms, apply to all proceedings in the Hong Kong High Court.54 The “underlying objective” of the Rules is to, inter alia, ensure that cases are dealt with as expeditiously as is reasonably practicable, and to promote a sense of reasonable proportion and procedural economy in the conduct of proceedings.55
