ABSTRACT
In the last chapter it was shown that the strongest correlates of sensation seeking are found in scales of risk taking. The lack of fear of physical harm in the sensation seeker is apparent in the correlations with scales that measure such specific fears. In this chapter, I describe evidence of the tendency of sensation seekers to volunteer for novel activities that may be appraised as risky and of their behavior once they are exposed to such situations.
